F.R.E.E. in NY
is directed by a
Steering Committee of individuals with a passion for the
right of parents to direct their children's education unencumbered
by government interference. The sole agenda and purpose
of FREE in NY is to share information which will aid in
accomplishing that goal. For a list of the steering committee

What is F.R.E.E. in NY?
FREE
in NY is a diverse coalition of families who believe that
it is both their responsibility and their inalienable right as parents to direct
the education of their children -- FREE -- from government oversight.
FREE
in NY was founded specifically to oppose government control of New York's home
schooling families. However, we believe that all education should be
parent directed. We stand opposed to any state regulation of private education. We believe that the government's
"limited interest" in ensuring a literate and self-sufficient citizenry can be accomplished through
many and diverse methods. Therefore, we support ending the government monopoly on education, through the repeal of equivalency and
compulsory attendance laws.

The
F.R.E.E. in New York
Steering Committee is opposed to any legislation (such as S2060 / A4598
- a bill to IMPOSE certain standards and procedures on home instruction) or regulation (such as CR100.10. Home Instruction) which interferes with the inalienable right of parents to direct the education of their
children.

| "... this is the lesson: never give in, never give
in, never, never, never, never - in nothing, great or small, large or
petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good
sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy..."
~ Winston Churchill - October 29, 1941 |
